On the occasion of republic day this year , Akshay kumar had proposed the idea of a web based platform in the form of a website or an app to help the families of martyred soldiers financially. Yesterday, on the occasion of ‘Shaurya Divas’ a felicitation ceremony was held in Delhi where Home Minister Rajnath Singh honoured the CRPF Jawans with bravery awards. Following which, Akshay Kumar along with the Home Minister launched the website ‘bharatkeveer.gov.in’ as a fundraising platform for the kins of fallen soldiers.

Akashay has also recently donated Rs 1.09 crore to 11 families of CRPF men who were killed in a Naxal ambush in Sukma. Addressing thousands of jawans and top brass of all central paramilitary forces – CRPF, CISF, BSF, ITBP, SSB and others Akshay said , “Today, I am here between you not as an actor, but as the son of an Army officer.” He added that some youth of the country get distracted and choose the path of terrorism but they don’t realise that they have very few supporters. “Our jawans fight them with all their heart and do good work. We need the support of 1.25 billion people to do good work,” he said.

Earlier this year,  Akshay had visited the home ministry to discuss the proposal of the website and app with home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and central paramilitary brass and the ministry had fully backed the initiative.

“This website has been made exactly in two and a half months. About three months, this idea came in my mind, while watching a documentary film on terrorists, which showed how terror leaders financially support the families of the terrorist who carry out terror acts.” Akshay said at the inauguration.

Idea behind the website :
In the video released by Akshay he had explained, “I think that our country should have a website or a mobile app which directly connects the kin of martyred soldiers and the people who want to extend help to them. This website will host a list of the names of the martyrs, along with the bank account numbers of their close ones – mother, father or wife. And if someone wants to help that jawan’s family financially, they can directly make a contribution into their accounts. That account number will be deleted once the total deposited money accounts to Rs 15 lakh. By this, family members of the martyred soldiers can directly use that money.”

Here is the tutorial that explains how you can donate the amount

We throw our hats off to Akshay who has taken this amazing initiative and helped in making it a reality and hope that other influential personalities will also use their stardom and wealth for the betterment of the country! Now , it’s our turn to make the contributions without complaining and blaming the authorities for failing to provide proper support to the families of martyrs.
