Uttar Pradesh: As an act of humanity and a humble gesture towards Muslims, the Hindu community of Ayodhya donated their land for a burial ground in Belarikhan village under Gosaiganj assembly constituency.
As per reports, local BJP MLA Khabbu Tiwari initiated the gesture and said, “It was a gift from the Hindu community through a proper deed and stamp duty.” “The tradition of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood here is decades-old. This was a small token of love from Hindus to Muslims. I hope this amity will prevail,” he added.
From the past few years, the land was a dispute between the two communities but it’s now signed as a registered deed for 1.25 bissas of land along with eight other shareholders on June 20 to bury the dispute forever.
“The land belonged to Hindus as per records. It is beside a qabristan (graveyard) and sometimes, Muslims buried their dead on the land. There were disputes and tension. But now, we have settled the matter,” Jhinkan Maharaj told TOI.
“Ram Prakash Bablu, Ram Singar Pandey, Ram Shabad, Jiya Ram, Subash Chandra, Rita Devi, Vindhyachal and Awadhesh Pandey, along with the seer, were signatories who transferred the deed in favour of Qabristan Committee, Gosaiganj, in the office of sub-registrar of Sadar tehsil of Faizabad. Ownership will soon be entered in revenue records,” said Vais Ansari, president of the committee.
The transfer of the land has been confirmed by the authorities and Haji Abdul Haq, the chief Imam of Gosaiganj Jama Masjid shared his happiness and mentioned that the gesture showed both the communities can coexist in peace and harmony.
Religion, caste, creed, gender are important, but often it tends to divide us from ourselves. It becomes a barrier and shift us away from our one and only goal, that is humanity. We are all the same under different skins, following a different religion, belonging to different castes. This is yet another inspiration from where we as people should understand and realise that we are all the same, we are all human and humanity is above all.
