Sitting MLA from Nawada constituency of Bihar, named Raj Ballav Yadav has finally been put behind the bars of Nalanda jail for the crime he’d committed back in 2016. The punishment shall be granted to him on 21 and strict actions against the politician are being anticipated to be taken. The special court set up for trials of cases against MPs and MLAs led by Justice Parshuram Yadav has finally come up with the much-awaited Justice.

Not just the politician but six others were playing roles to make the crime a success and they’re Radha Devi, her daughter Sulekha Devi, Tusi Devi, her granddaughter Chhoti Devi, and Sumit Suman alias Pushpanjay. It was Sulekha who lured the school going girl to the MLA’s residence at Pathara English village on 6 February 2016 in the name of a birthday party.

The girl reached her house in a semi-conscious state and overlooking the promise made by Sulekha to get her a good phone if she maintains silence about it, she told her ordeal to her family who then immediately filed a complaint with the police. Not to miss there, Nalanda police has filed a chargesheet consisting of 205 pages against him and he was expelled from RJD in April 2016.

Fearing confiscation of properties, he had surrendered before the Chief Magistrate’s court in March 2016 but was released after the Patna High Court granted him bail in September 2016. The bail was however cancelled on November 2016 after the state government challenged it in the Supreme Court.

No matter which government comes to power in a state, criminals must not get to rule. And this a glowing example why we should be well informed about candidates before casting our votes.
