An FIR has been lodged against him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 at the Bodh Gaya police station after a few children aged between six to twelve years registered a complaint with their parents.

Gaya’s senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rajeev Mishra said the police acted soon after they got the information and arrested the accused from Mastipur village who hails from Assam too.
After the police recorded the statements of the respective children they started gathering details of the non-government organisation Prasanna Social Welfare Trust, which solely runs and manages the Prasanna Jyoti Buddhist Novice School and Meditation Centre. The police even mentioned of lodging an FIR in case of any fraud detected against all the members of the organisation.

After the complaint, the officers had a talk with the children and found out about the marks on their bodies. The parents who reached Bodh Gaya after receiving the information from their children over the phone said the monk should be punished severely.
A recording of the statements of the 15 victims will be taken under Section 164 before getting them examined medically. The victims and their families will be placed under police security at Assam Bhawan near the Vishnupad shrine.
