#MeToo is a storm by now that doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon. As the masks are being removed off the most unexpected faces, this time it’s our very own ‘Babuji’s’ turn to take his misdeeds on his face.

“I started to walk home on the empty streets although the distance to my own house was long. Midway I was accosted by this man who was driving his own car and he asked me to sit in it and said he would drop me home. I trusted him and sat in his car. I have faint memory after that. I can remember more liquor being poured into my mouth and I remember being violated endlessly. When I woke up the next afternoon, I was in pain. I hadn’t just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalised.”

This is an excerpt from Veteran television writer, director and producer Vinta Nanda’s Facebook post that describes how she was raped by the lead actor of show Tara, Alok Nath. You can read the entire detailed Facebook post here.

The overtly well behaved, orthodox father figure on television screen behind the camera turns into an alcoholic and abuses his female Co-stars, as Vinta says of him. It took Vinta 20 long years to overcome the trauma. Alok had used his influence to harm Vinta’s career as well, she further adds.

And to all those whose minds have now been occupied with questions on credibility of Vinta’s allegations, let us tell you that Tara’s lead actress Navneet Nishan was all set to sue Alok Nath for calling her an drug abuser. However, later in an interview she cleared the air saying “It has taken me 8 years to get where I am… I don’t want some alcoholic fool to mess it up for me”.

Navneet, supporting Vinta shares her story.
“I empathise with Vinta for the terrible pain she has gone through; it is unimaginable. I dealt with the four year harassment by slapping the man in question and it is done and dusted. l suffered the loss of the show and was further shamed by the man through media and I endured that. I fought my battles there and then. I am immensely glad that the power trip and sexual dominance coming from this power is being called out. It is high time,” she told PTI.

As per reports, Alok Nath was fired from sets for his disgusting behavior.

Alok Nath has shattered the silence with utmost vagueness one can come up with.

Neither I am denying this nor do I would agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched.” this is how Alok Nath reacted to Vinta’s sensible allegations. He also said that Vineeta’s allegations are absurd and that, in this world, what a woman says is easily believed and hence it’s of no value if he speaks something to defend himself.

He also has a history of targeting women on Twitter

ell, is it just us or you too find his response quite similar to that of Nana Patekar who was quoted saying that speaking to the media useless? Whatever! Molesters, learn one thing for sure. Victims have decided to speak. They’re not holding back in anyway. So better you hold back your bizarre sexual fantasies else get ready for the world to see your real, ugly face beneath the veil that you’re wearing.
