The Bosu Body Bar in Manchester deserves the loudest round of applause for this incredibly kind gesture. The restaurant has won praise for leaving boxes of free food for the homeless after closing each night.
This restaurant specializes in selling healthy fast-food boxes that last up to 72 hours. The staff at the restaurant cannot sell the food despite a lot of it still being fresh and edible.Instead of throwing it away like most restaurants, the team at Bosu Body Bar recently started placing the food outside its doors after noticing a sharp rise in people sleeping rough.
On Facebook, the restaurant posted,
“When we close the doors for the day, we promise to leave bags outside full of tasty food. If you see anyone on the streets of Manchester or Didsbury who look hungry, let them know where they can find a meal in a bag. Spread the love always.”
The healthy fast food shop’s owners have also been encouraging customers to donate unwanted warm clothes to hand out alongside the food.
The bar now plans to expand its project by teaming up with local charities in Manchester to distribute the food each night.
Every business should be doing this, instead of throwing away food, they can feed someone who is starving just a feet away. The world needs more people like this!
