“I don’t think women can have it all. I just don’t think so. We pretend we have it all. We pretend we can have it all.”
Indra Nooyi, A woman who is a mother, daughter, wife, daughter in law, a global leader and a CEO of PepsiCo managed to break the glass ceiling and become the first independent female director of the International Cricket Council.
She will be first appointed for a term of 2 years and then further she might be re-appointed for further terms. She has been consistently ranked by the Fortune Magazine- among the World’s Most Powerful Women.
ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar said to sources: “We are delighted to welcome Indra to the ICC. Adding another independent director – particularly a female – is such an important step forward in improving our governance. To have someone of Indra’s calibre is fantastic news for the global game – she is frequently recognized as one of the most influential people in business today, running one of the world’s biggest corporations”
Indra Nooyi is perfect for the position considering the fact that she is a cricket-enthusiast, leader in the commercial sector and an exceptional-powerful woman of her times, it is indeed going to be a bold step altogether.
The place where this woman has reached is of ultimate accomplishment, as it definitely sweeps all the emotions inclusive of guilt, sadness, happiness, and belongingness of a person’s life especially women. It takes a lot of courage to step out and be what you actually want to be and becoming that one might have to lose a lot they got earlier.
Except of the reality that she is thrilled to be a part of this and that she is on verge to climb up another step, her another concern is how our country is going to be benefited while she said “ICC’s incredible partners, and cricketers around the world to grow our sport responsibly and give our fans a new reason to follow every ball and shot.”
We hope that many such women and all the people regardless of the age stand up and work for themselves looking at what they have always wanted and what suits them the best.
