While taking the vows of marriage she promised to love him in this life and beyond , Anju Yadav defied all traditions when she carried her husband’s dead body on her shoulders and let her daughter light his pyre.

As reported by Patrika , Rajasthan-based Anju’s deceased husband Rakesh, was a head constable with the Gujarat  Police . The silent heart attack killed the cop while he was on duty . Rakesh hailed from  Shivdan Singh Pura, Alwar, and therefore it took time for the body to reach his village.

Friends and relatives had gathered to bid him final goodbye but his wife stepped ahead to carry him till his final destination. Breaking free from years long traditions she performed all the rituals along with her daughter. The gesture  made the entire crowd heavy with emotions. Since, Rakesh didn’t have a son, his daughter Lochan lit the pyre.

It takes a lot of courage to break traditions and stereotypes created by society in such a moment of grief , The Indian Feed salutes Anju Yadav for setting an example for the society.
