We are not going to get rid of negative news anytime soon. As the nation is already disturbed with Mandsaur rape victim’s critical health conditions, simultaneous death of 11 members of a Delhi based family arrives as yet another shock wave.
11 members of a family that originally hailed from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan including 3 teenagers were found dead in a house situated in Burari, North Delhi opposite Guru Govind hospital. All the dead bodies were hanging from the ceiling with eyes blindfolded, mouths gagged and hands tied. The crime scene with several red stools lying upturned looked far more horrible than any horror movie’s set.
As of now, the primary investigations have put forward a probable blueprint of the criminal process. Initially, three people of the family decided to commit suicide and those three ended up killing the entire family including themselves at last.
Police sources said, “Probe has revealed that three of the family members had first decided to commit suicide who then decided to kill the entire family. They bought sedatives and mixed it in the dinner the previous night and served it to the family.”
Dinner samples of everyone from the night before confirmed the presence of sedative drugs in them. Their hands were tied to prevent them from escaping or alarming neighbors. A lady who tried to seek help got her throat slit.
The family owned a grocery shop and a ply business. Their residence was a floor above the grocery shop. The family had shut the shop at 11:45 pm on Saturday. A neighbor went to buy milk packet from the shop on Sunday morning and found it closed. When he went upstairs, he discovered the deaths.
“He found the bodies hanging from a net used for ventilation. He alerted other neighbors and informed us,” a policeman said. “We have not found any suicide note. Prima facie it looks like a case of suicide. We are recording the statements of the neighbors. So far, we have not found any reason behind their extreme step,” another policeman told News18.
Police, on the basis of handwritten notes found around the crime scene suspects of the spiritual motive behind the mishap. Handwritten notes have been recovered that say “the human body is temporary and one can overcome fear by covering their eyes and mouth”.
“We have found handwritten notes detailing how hands and legs are to be tied and are quite similar to the manner in which the bodies of 10 persons were found. They are exhaustive notes and we are studying them,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar.
“The notes say if a group of 11 people follows these rituals, all problems would ease out and they would attain salvation. Some notes have dates on which they were written while others don’t. All the notes talk about reaching the end and gaining peace,” one of the investigators said.
The probability of suicide has already been ruled out. The family had a pet dog who was found on the roof. Fingerprints on its Leash can reveal one of the three murderers. Further, the relatives of the dead from Rajasthan are being contacted. Finding out the belief of the deceased in any Godman or their involvement in any occult practice is the current priority. The cell phones of all are also seized.
Among the dead are Narayan Bhatia (75), her daughter Partibha (60), Partibha’s daughter Priyanka (30), Narayan’s older son Bhupi Bhatia (46), his wife Savita (42), their children Nitu (24), Meenu (22) and Dhiru (12), Narayan’s younger son Lalit Bhatia (42) and his wife Tina (38) and their son Shivam (15).
The case has got all heads turned and we are certainly going to observe Keenly the advancements in the case till the mystery is cracked by the police.
