It seems that one of the most favorite ways to pass time for people and trolls in India is commenting on a woman’s attire and dictating about her social behavior. This trend of trolling and dictating women is not new. From issuing fatwas on Sania Mirza for her dress to slut shaming Priyanka Chopra for her seating posture and dress while meeting PM Modi, years passed but the trolls and clerics never left a chance to shove their “valuable” opinion instead of appreciating the success of these ladies.
Recently, actress Deepika Padukone was also slut-shamed for her photoshoot in a white dress, within a few days actress Sana Fatima Shekh also posted some of her swimsuit pictures from a photoshoot.
As expected, soon the trolling began for the Dangal actress, people started offering her various suggestions from changing her name and religion to stop posting such pics during Ramzan.
Taking on the same issue Mirror Now’s Faye D’Souza recently conducted a debate regarding the trolling of celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Fatima Sana Sheikh for their choice of dress. While everyone on the debate was voicing their opinion Maulana Yasoob Abbas shouted on Faye, “I am telling you, wear an underwear and come. You will become equal to men. Wear an underwear and come to debate. There will be equality between men and women”.
Disgusted by the comment of Maulana, Faye looked into the camera for a few seconds with a smile before ripping apart the Maulana.
“Let me tell you Maulana ji.Aap ke jaise maine bahut dekhe hain. I am not afraid of you.He hopes that he will rile me up. He hopes that I will throw a fit, and I will lose control of my panel and forget how to do my job. Let me tell you Maulana ji, I have seen many like you. I am not afraid of you, I am not threatened by you, I am not rattled by you.”
“All you men think that if you rattle Sana Fatima when she is doing her job, if you rattle Sania Mirza while she is doing her job, if you rattle women then they will run back into their kitchens and leave the world for you again to conquer, I have news for you, we are not going anywhere.”

Thanks Faye for standing against the trolls and clerics who think it’s their job to take care of cultural values of our society. It should be no one’s business to dictate someone what to wear, what job to do, if you can’t appreciate their achievement and success just keep your opinion with you.
