A Proud moment for India !! Finally, the wait for Miss world crown is over for India after 17 years. Last Miss World from India was won by Priyanka Chopra in the year 2000.
21-year-old Haryana girl Manushi Chillar is now the new Miss World, who won the title at the 67th edition of Miss World 2017 beauty pageant held in China. Manushi Chillar has become the sixth Indian to be crowned Miss World. Before her Reita Faria, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, Yukta Mookhey, Priyanka Chopra were the beauty pageants who made India proud on this level.
Manushi studied at St. Thomas School in New Delhi. Now she is pursuing her MBBS in Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.
Her future plan is to be a Cardiac surgeon and serve rural people by opening nonprofit hospitals in rural areas.
As many as 108 beauty queens from different parts of the world participated in the prestigious beauty pageant. Miss World 2016 winner Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle passed on the coveted crown to the new queen.
The runner-up title went to Stephanie Hill (England) and after her Miss Mexico Andrea Meza was the second runner-up.
When asked, which profession in the world deserves the highest salary and why, she replied saying, “My mother has been my biggest inspiration, so I have to say, a mother’s job. It is not always about cash, but love and respect as well.”
The medical student couldn’t believe herself when her name was announced and reacted with extreme joy. Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana congratulated her on Twitter.
