After a Delhi based temple denied last rites to a deceased Hindu woman for she was married to a Muslim man during her lifetime, now a Muslim man named Babu Khan from Racharh village of Baghpat district has registered a complaint with the police.
“I had gone to Haridwar as a Kanwar and offered water at the temples. On Friday, when I went to a mosque, some people assaulted me and stopped me from offering Namaz. They even forced me to run away from there,” he states in his complaint.
Babu adds that after he was beaten up, his wife and children had to depart for their relative’s house anticipating more trouble.
Four people have been held responsible out of whom three are already under arrest. One is absconding and soon to be caught. Talks are going on involving reputed people of the village and the police to settle the matter though the peace is intact in the village environment, says Inspector Devendra Bisht.
On the other hand, the accused have clarified that they stopped Babu from entering the mosque since he was in an inebriated state.
District president of Hindu Jagran Manch, Deepak Banmauli has extended full support to Babu Khan and takes a staunch saying that the manch won’t tolerate any harassment to Babu.
Well, as investigations are proceeding, the truth is yet to unmasked completely. However, it’s bothersome how religiously blinded people are losing their calm and continuing to hit new lows day by day.
