Nagpur: Harsh Poddar’s special zonal squad arrested two alleged pimps operating in a tourist car in the outskirts of the city. The accused, Yogesh Sahu and Rahul Gaute were running a ‘mobile’ sex racket in the city or sex trade in car preferring vehicles rather than apartments to avoid police raids and the cost.
A 21-year-old student from the arts stream was rescued during an operation at a brick kiln at Deepak Nagar which had been the spot chosen by the two for the last few days. As per reports, the officials claim that young women are getting lured into the flesh trade for quick cash to sponsor addictions, costly mobile phones, branded clothes, and accessories.
The duo got caught when the squad, led by PI Dilip Landge, API Omprakash Sontakke and PSI Jeetendra Thakur, sent a decoy who had to hand over cash Rs 1,000 to Sahu and Gaute to get access to the survivor, who was in the car. Further, the woman rescued mentioned that she was accompanied by Sahu and Gaute in a car to many places in the city to cater to clients.
A further checking of the place brought to notice of several used condoms discarded near the place.
After a thorough investigation, Sahu confessed that he was introduced to the car sex trade after some of his friends demanded it and the service was started initially after their close friends consumed liquor or some sort of addiction. Later, the service grew and it became a business.
PI Landge of Jaripatka police station, where the offence was registered, said he had sought four days custody but the court sent the two to magisterial custody. “Sahu claimed he had hired the car for a month but we need to ascertain the ownership of the vehicle,” he said.
