We hardly can find anyone in India who doesn’t love Bollywood. So, here we share the biggest news of the year with the cinema lovers out there! We have got our official Oscar entry for the year from Amit Masurkar and Rajkumar Rao and that’s NEWTON!Well, before you assume it to be another biopic on its way, let us give you a hint of Newton’s plot, that has been receiving tremendous appreciation from critics since its release!

It is about a Government clerk, Nutan Kumar(and slowly the pronunciations mutate it to ‘Newton’!) who is sent to a Naxal-infested state on Election duty. The area has a total eligible voters’ population amounting to 76. Nutan tries his best to conduct free and fair voting despite the apathy of security forces and the fear of guerrilla attacks by communist rebels.

Armed with bulletproof jackets and landmine detectors the characters explore the dangers in a forest.Troops of militants and local folk share their own friction.

Overall, it is a total drama where all contradictory characters share conversations in a closed setup.

If you are searching for the ‘Branded’ superstars playing action in VFX wrapped sequences or romancing their ladies in some spicy item songs then this story is definitely not for you.

It is a truth brought before the society in the best possible narration. An eye-opener, as Big B rightly calls it!A young, talented and enthusiastic writer and film-maker Amit Masurkar’s experimental attempt at a sensitive issue.

And obviously, Rajkumar Rao’s ( who has not got lucky with nepotism but is definitely bestowed with talent) hard work to bring out the best of this ‘out-of-the-box’ character, NEWTON.

Now, with making it to the Oscar entry this film appeals us strongly to mold our standards. And accept movies like Masaan, Newton actors like Vicky Kaushal, Rajkumar Rao, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi with more warmth.

They have little stardom to their credit but they rule ‘acting skills’ like a boss! For making Indian Cinema a world-class art, not just good directors and actors are required, but also a better audience!

With this, we thank, congratulate and wish all the very best to Team Newton and hope to see them lift Oscar for India.
