After the prolonged struggle, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ hit the theatres yesterday on 25th January. Yet the protests from the fringe groups have not come to an end. Majorly in the states of Rajasthan, Gujrat, Haryana, Madhya Pradhesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, agitation for the movie have been maximum by the Karni Sena protesters uprising physical violence as well.

Several theatres have been vandalised due to the attacks by the fringe groups showing anger towards the screening of the movie. They did not spare the children as well, as on 24th January a huge mob attacked a school bus in Gurugram, Haryana.

Meanwhile the congestion crossed the patience level of everybody, up police seems to take an amazing action against the baseless agitation even after the certification of movie by the CBFC. A video of Lucknow was being uploaded by a Twitter user, Vijaita Singh 24th January, in which two policemen are spotted beating a member of Karni Sena as he forcibly entered the theatre screening the movie and creating nuisance. As he entered the theatre, one of the policemen dragged him through his clothes, heaving across the ground. Later, they started beating him with a baton (lathi) as he screeched and cried out loud, begging for pardon.

All the while when controversies took an ugly face, people all over the nation questioned the judicial authorities, declaring them incapable of handling the agitators. The frustration amongst the police had to rush out and the brave steps are taken by Lucknow police. When every other move fails, baton of a police works.

As the video hit Twitter, users applauded Indian police for their outrageous actions and questioned the legitimacy of the Karni Sena members.

A copy of the same video has been leaked in You tube as well.
