The three were later released on bail.

The residents didn’t complain once to the police about the youngsters and took the matter into their own hands. They were arrested and we are looking for the victims to get more details on the incident. Accordingly, more sections will be added against the accused“, an Indiatoday report quoted senior police inspector Gajanan Kabjule from Manpada police station as saying.

Our Take: We at “The Indian Feed” strongly condemn any act of moral policing. In India PDA by couples is always seen as an ‘obscene act’ by the society. Even simply hugging and holding acts could invite the wrath of the so-called moral police. This is the other side of the digital India where two consenting individuals could not hold each other’s hands. Moral policing needs to be condemned in the same way as we condemn lynching. These goons should have no right to interfere in someone else’s private life and harass them publicly. Strict action must be taken against these vigilantes for taking laws into their own hands and shaming people in the guarding the Indian culture.
