A few days back CBSE and ICSE declared the results of class 12th 2017 and it brought happiness for some while the others were not so happy. Amidst all the chaos some inspiring stories also came to our notice, for ex the story of Ranchi Boy who scored 95 percent even when he is still fighting with bone cancer. Adding to the list of inspiring and happy stories here is the story of Miss India 2016 Second Runner-up Pankhuri Gidwani.

She had missed her board examination in 2016 as she was participating in the Miss India event and was also preparing for the Miss Grand International in which she secured 25th position out of 80 countries.

Pankhuri then appeared for her ICSE class 12th exams this year from La Martiniere Girls College, Lucknow and nailed it with 97.25%.

Here is the post that she shared on her Facebook wall

” 97.25 it is.So there is something I would like all my friends and followers to know.

I had missed my board examinations for participating in Miss India(at 18) and after winning Miss India 2nd Runners Up I had to train for Miss Grand International and received the 25th position out of 80 countries. After coming back from the pageant, I battled a number of hard situations, one of them getting adjusted to studying again after a year of glamor.I put my all into it, and this is the result I came forth with.

So all the people out there who think that something they want is impossible to accomplish, whether it is academics, your dreams or the love you want, you can achieve it all, just have the grit, determination and a true heart to pursue it all.”

“It’s so overwhelming! Wishes are pouring in from all quarters. It has been a thrilling journey for my daughter,”  Gidwani’s father Deepak said to Hindustan Times.

It was important on her part to strike a balance between academics and her modeling career. Pankhuri has scored 99 in history and wants to study performing arts or do a bachelor’s in Mass Media from Mumbai,” he added.

Pankhuri’s story is really an example for all the kids and parents out there who think at a time you can manage only one, either your passion or your studies. She has also broken the stereotypes surrounding the glam world that you can’t have excellent educational skills and beautiful face at the same time.
