The latest victim of cow related violence is Sagir Khan of Mirzapur. Sagir was talking 6 cows in a pick up van through the village of Alwar when people suspected smuggling and became violent.

According to IndiaToday report, Sagir was nabbed and severely beaten up by locals in the jungles of Bagheri Khurd. Soon, police reached the spot to rescue him and sent him to Kishangarhbaas hospital after seizing the van and sending the cattle to the shelter. Sagir was soon referred to Alwar and is currently under treatment in Rajiv Gandhi trauma center. Mohammed Ilyaas, ASI, Kishangarhbaas police station is the officer dealing with the case, as reported by TOI.

Alwar had witnessed the death of 28 YO Rakbar Khan as well who was beaten to death by furious mob suspected of cow smuggling. The incident that happened somewhere near July last year took place in Lalawandi village of Ramgarh where Rakbar was found with 2 cows along with him.

What was Sagir doing with the cows isn’t yet known because people who have associated animals with religions are in mood to talk, but thrash. The Congress-led state government which was criticizing the earlier government for failing to stop cow related violence has maintained a silence over the issue and surprisingly the incident was not highlighted by the media either.
