India has always been known as a nation which treats its guests as Gods, and even the tourism industry of the country also tries to project the same through its motto of incredible India. However, what happened to a Swiss couple in Fatehpur Sikri a few days back raised serious concerns about the safety of the foreign nationals and tourists in the country.

The statement given by the accused of the Fatehpur incident clearly reflects how a lot of Indians think that foreigners are sex-starved and hence they are easy to approach for such acts.

In yet another incident that dents the image of the nation, if found true, a 20-year-old Russian woman was allegedly raped by a bank branch manager from Mathura.Based on a complaint, filed by the woman, the bank manager has been arrested. According to the FIR filed by the woman, both came into contact on November 2016 through Facebook. They were in touch with each other since then.

On his advice, she came to India on September 17 and stayed in the temple town of Vrindaban, according to the FIR.She alleged that on September 22 she was taken to a house, where she was raped and that her sufferings continued since then.

The manager of UCO Bank’s Vrindaban branch, Mahendra Prasad Singh, has been arrested based on a complaint filed by the woman,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Shanker Mishra said to PTI yesterday. She said that the complaint was filed after she met another Russian woman who counseled her to do so.

He raped me and was in a relationship with several other women. I met him in Vrindavan,” the victim said in a statement to news agency ANI. However, the accused said, “There was no contact between us for a year. She was asking me for money. When I refused, she filed this case against me.”

The woman has been sent for medical examination. We hope proper investigations are carried out and action is taken against the accused if found guilty.
