In a horrific case of serial child abuse, a govt school headmaster was sentenced to 55 years of rigorous punishment by a special court for sexually abusing 22 girls.The Tamil Nadu school monster headmaster used to sexually abuse kids including both boys and girls till he was suspended. He is suspected to have abused 91 boys and girls of the Pothumbu Government High School Headmaster in Podhumbu village near Madurai.

He was made the headmaster of the school in 2009 and continued with his horrific crimes till 2011 when he was suspended. When the kids used to resist his heinous acts he used to threaten them that they would be failed in the exams. Allegedly, school staff were aware of his acts but turned a blind eye to it.

How did it happen?

The first case against the headmaster was filed in 2011 by parents whose 7 years old daughter was sexually harassed by him. According to TheNewsMinute report, the parents alleged that he used to touch the breasts of the young girls and make them touch him. He used to undress children privately and capture them on his camera. The mother of the girl had also alleged that the Headmaster’s niece was also helping him and her daughter was afraid to even go to school.

After the first complaint was lodged many other parents came forward with their stories.Within 10 days of the first complaint, a fact-finding committee was sent to the school.

The committe reports shook the state. The harasser had been doing this for three years and used to call the children to his room and used to sexually abuse and click pictures of them.The judge, however, acquitted the other teachers, C Amali Rose, Shanmuga Kumarasamy and Victor who were charged with accompanying the headmaaster in the crime. The teachers allegedly used to tell kids to adjust whenever they complained.

Sadly, the kid is no more alive to savor the victory after the verdict was announced.

The Landmark judgment

On Tuesday, a special court in Madurai sentenced S Arockiasamy to 55 years imprisonment for sexually abusing 20 girl students, including Dalit children. He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 12,32,500 which would be distributed among the 22 girl students.

He was found guilty under Section 354 (outraging the modesty of women), Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and under various Sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1998.

Arokiasamy will serve a sentence of 55 years. In a landmark judgment, third Additional District Judge R Shanmugasundaram sentenced Arockiasamy to imprisonment for five years each for sexually abusing five children belonging to Schedules Caste under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

He also got two years each for abusing 15 other students. The 25 years in the first part of the sentence and the 30 years will run consecutively. “For a special court for cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, giving 50plus years of imprisonment to a convict and making the convict pay fine to his victims is a first in the country,” said a beaming public prosecutor P Parimaladevi to the media.
