Incidents like such pull us back in believing that humanity and promptness of government organizations have not faded away.

A 6-Year-old girl of Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba went around 50 meters away from home as they didn’t have a toilet at 3 am to relieve herself when the accused raped her.
The accused live in the same locality as of the survivor’s.
The same town’s 5 policemen were rewarded with cash for their promptness in clearing the case off.

A police team comprising inspector Vikram Aditya Singh, senior sub-inspector KP Singh, in-charge of district crime records bureau MK Zaidi and two other policemen arrested the accused in less than two days of the incident, though the girl was still recovering.

In favour of this, An NGO ‘Always Believe In Yourself’ and local legislator Rajesh Goswami announced the cash reward of 5000 and 5100 respectively. They received the cash on 2 February and immediately they gave the money to the survivor’s family so that they can build the toilet in their home with a promise of giving more if required.

“We know the money is not enough for the construction of toilet. We will give more from our salaries. We have decided to see that the toilet is built,” said inspector Vikram Aditya Singh.

It is witnessed and observed that because of such social problems, rapes were taking place at a higher pace and construction of toilets were very much needed.
“The district magistrate is also providing financial relief to the family for toilet construction. We are in touch with the girl’s family,” the SP added.

We are astonished on the act of generosity that the police- department has shown for the family and other nearby areas by putting up requests for getting the toilets made.

In a country like ours, we definitely need such promptness and quick actions which are not only helping in clearing the case off but will definitely reduce the number. Uttar Pradesh is the lowest on the list of Gender Vulnerability Index compiled by Plan India, the state definitely needs improvement and this is a step closer to the betterment.
