You can trust Uttar Pradesh to come up with the most gruesome and weirdest of crimes that make no heads or tails but leads you to ask- is something fundamentally wrong with a section of Uttar Pradesh’s society? In the latest shocking incident, a 16-year-old boy died on Saturday after three men allegedly inserted the nozzle of a high-power air compressor into his rectum and inflated it, which resulted in brutal damage of his internal organs, the injuries to which he succumbed. The gruesome incident took place in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh.
The now-deceased minor boy used to work at a rice mill in Pilibhit along with his father. The victim’s father was a witness to the incident. It was he who narrated to the police on March 4, that three workers of the rice mill inserted a high-power air compressor in his son’s rectum and pumped compressed air into his body.
“On March 4, when he (victim) was about to eat his lunch, three laborers identified as Amit, Suraj and Kamlesh grabbed my son. Amit and Suraj held his hands while Kamlesh pumped air in his body by the rice mill’s air compressor through his private parts,” the victim’s father said, as reported by Times of India.
The victim was admitted to a local hospital, but with the grave internal injuries aggravating, the teenager’s health worsened, and the local doctors were unable to treat him. Following this, he was rushed to a private hospital in Bareilly, where he suffered a slow and painful death over two days, according to the police.
After the teenager’s death on Saturday, his father lodged a complaint against the three accused in Pilibhit district. Police, on the basis of this complaint, registered a case against the three accused, aged between 22 and 26, under 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Two of them have been detained by the police. Efforts are on to find out why the accused pumped air into the victim’s body – whether it was for fun or the accused had any grudges against the boy. Whatever be the reason, incidents like these are unfortunate and create a disturbing ripple in the social fabric. Adequate punishment of an exemplary nature needs to be given to set a deterrent that will make miscreants think twice before committing such acts.
