‘ Nature Photographer of The Year ‘ , a prestigious annual contest organized by National Geographic is an international showcase where photographers from around the globe participate. They show their talents by putting mother nature in the frame.  This competition has four categories :  Animal portraits, Landscape, Action and Environment issues

For the year 2016, G. Lecoeur from France emerged as the winner for his underwater image of migration of Sardines. Varun Aditya, an Indian photographer also won the first position in Animal Portraits category.

He has captured a jaw-dropping picture of a green vine snake and titled the picture as ‘Dragging You Deep Into The Woods’.

After winning the award Varun shared the news on facebook.
